Creating a Social Media Presence for Businesses

The amount of social media platforms available at this current time is over whelming. As time continues to move on, I can only imagine the online platforms will grow and new socials will be available.

On a personal level, it’s safe to say there are millions of users across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. It’s used for a whole host of reasons, such as, sharing photo’s, advertising jobs and keeping in contact with friends and family.

All social media platforms can be used for business too, offering you a free business account, which allows you to promote your business and reach out to your audience. In fact, it gives you the opportunity to connect with any existing customers whilst showing potential customers what you have to offer and what your business is all about.

Be Human

After all, people buy from people. Within a small or large business, it’s great to see who is behind the name and the products. On social media you have the platforms available to you to show who YOU are but also relate with the audience through the posts you choose to share and comment on.

Be Consistent

Consistency is key. Uploading your images or written content at the same time and day provides the consumer with trust. They know when to expect your post and could well be something they are looking forward to.

Being consistent says a lot about your business and shows a level of organisation and wanting to provide the customer with a fantastic service, on and offline.

Monthly Campaign

Having a pre-planned monthly campaign gives your monthly content a clear vision and allows you to create relevant and on topic posts.

It also gives you the chance to focus on a group of products to push sales and spend quality time focusing your marketing towards a certain promotion. To get ahead of the game, work a month in advanced. There are plenty of programmes that allow you to schedule all your posts ahead of time, so all you need to do is check the posts performance and measure the success.

Choose the right platform

As I touched on before, there are so many social platforms out there, where do you start? You might want to sign up to them all – but will they all work for you?

It’s not a problem if they don’t but you need to work out how you can reach most of your audience and make sure you don’t waste your time and posts on an area that isn’t working for you. Before setting your profiles, it’s worth while doing some research, looking at competitors and getting some guidance from online.

Use Trustpilots

If you’re doing well and have some 5 star reviews to shout about, why not?

Reviews are a big part of a business now. Before we buy anything or choose a company, we look through the ratings and see what customers have to say about the level of service they received.

Creating Trustpilot posts is a great way to say this is what our customer’s say, this is what we offer and most importantly we deliver high quality service.

Getting yourself known on social media will be a journey, it will require perseverance whilst you build your brand in the online world. Having said that, if you are consistent, reach out to the right audience and continue to be creative, the followers and interest will come with time.
